Crafting Keeps Me Sane

About me.

I try really hard to be a good housewife- Ok, I can't lie... I try a little bit to be a good housewife. There are times when the house is in shambles {now} and I look around at all of the mess and opt to do something else besides pick up.

Am I the only one?

It doesn't matter how much I pick up, there is always something else to be picked up. It's like my kids follow me around dropping toys behind me so I'll have to go back and pick them up again! geesh! It's like a never ending cycle. Haha... Please, someone tell me I'm not alone here!

So sometimes I'd rather do something else. Ok, most of the time I'd rather do something else. Strike that, all the time I'd rather do something else.

Being creative is my outlet. I love to sit at the kitchen table {I'd REALLY love to sit at a craft table} and create something beautiful or useful. At least my kids can't {usually} undo the things I create. When I lay in bed and think about all of the things I didn't accomplish that day {laundry today}, I can at least think of the cute wreath on my door or the beautiful lamp in my living room that held up perfectly against a 3 year old's baseball bat.

But my most favorite thing to think about is my sweet babies, asleep in there beds, who can't imagine their mommy doing anything wrong. Somehow they don't notice the mess and they don't mind mac & cheese for dinner {again}. They are the reason I do this. The reason I do everything....

Wow! That turned mushy fast! What was I saying?

Oh yeah! The reason I have this blog. The reason I craft. Because crafting keeps me sane. And yes, sometimes my sanity is questionable.

P.S. The Mr. is the best husband in the world. He's watching the kids while I check out of the real world and into the blogging world. Looks like fun, eh?

  1. Girl, you are so not alone in this. I tell my husband all the time that it is frustrating when I clean to only have to turn around and clean again. He is just as bad as the kids too, so it is even more frustrating. And yes, I have the days where my house is chaos and I just don't feel like picking up, so I don't (having one of those moments now in fact)....All I can say is that it is nice to know that it isn't just me who is going through this.

  2. I read a quote just yesterday that said.
"If you neglect your house it will take a week to fix, if you neglect your children for a week, it will take twenty years to fix."
You do a beautiful job, as a wife mother and house keeper. Clutter is different than dirty! I love you Natalie! You are truly an inspiration.
